OverBooked provides an online time-slot booking platform that integrates with ServiceM8 for service businesses. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used when you interact with our booking pages.

What We Collect

Email Address

Collected during the email verification step of every booking.

Why: To verify your identity, send you a one-time verification code, deliver booking confirmations, and allow you to manage or reschedule your appointments via email.

Name & Contact Details

Your name, phone number, and address may be collected via custom form fields configured by the business.

Why: So the business can identify you, contact you about your appointment, and create the corresponding job record in their ServiceM8 system.

Custom Form Fields

Businesses can add custom fields (e.g., job description, vehicle details, special instructions) to their booking form.

Why: To capture information the business needs to prepare for and deliver the requested service. These fields are defined by each business individually.

Booking Details

Date, time, and duration of your selected appointment slot.

Why: To reserve the time slot, create a calendar entry for the business, and send you confirmation and reminder communications.

Site / Location Information

If applicable, the name and address of a service site (e.g., vehicle, property, location).

Why: To associate your booking with the correct service location in ServiceM8 and allow the business to plan their schedule.

Abandoned Session Data

If you start but do not complete a booking, we may temporarily store which step you reached, the date/time you selected, and your email (if entered).

Why: The business may use this data to follow up with you and assist you in completing your booking. It also helps the business understand where customers drop off in the booking flow and improve their experience.

How We Use Your Data

To process and confirm your booking
To send verification codes, booking confirmations, and reschedule links via email
To create job records in the business's ServiceM8 account on their behalf
To allow you to view, manage, and reschedule your bookings
To help the business improve their booking experience (aggregated, anonymized analytics)

Data Sharing

OverBooked is operated by OverGeek. The business (organisation) you are booking through has full access to the data you provide during the booking process. If that business uses ServiceM8, your data is also sent to their ServiceM8 account to create job records.

Each business is responsible for how they use your data beyond processing your booking. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of the specific business you are booking with for details on how they may store, use, or share your information.

OverGeek does not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties for marketing purposes. However, we cannot guarantee the same for the business you are booking through. Please refer to their own privacy policy for details on how they handle your information.

Data Retention

Booking records are retained as long as the business maintains an active OverBooked account. Abandoned session data is automatically cleaned up periodically. You may request deletion of your data by contacting the business you booked with directly.

Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser session storage to remember your progress through the booking flow (e.g., selected date, time, and form values) so you don't lose your place if you refresh the page. This data is stored locally in your browser and is not sent to our servers until you submit your booking. No tracking cookies are used on booking pages.

Your Rights
